We are looking for Product Testers!

We are doing a collaboration with Great Wall Tea Company (you can visit the stunning wall of tea at the New West River Market and The City of Lougheed shopping centre) to make a tea inspired soap.

We've chosen to make an Earl Grey scented soap because we both love Earl Grey tea. We have been experimenting with a few ways to incorporate tea into soap.

Here are our ideas:

Option one

We've developed a blend of Palmarosa and Bergamot essential oils for a smooth earl grey scent. We sprinkled earl grey tea leaves on half the soaps so we can compare and contrast our essential oil blend with the scent of the tea leaves.

Option two

We infused earl grey soap into the soap mixture, which created a rich brown colour. We made a swirl design on the top of the bar (to nod to our classic #SwirlsBySimon) and sprinkled some tea leaves on top.

Option three

We ground up the tea leaves and mixed them directly into the soap. Our hypothesis was that this would allow us to make a swirl design. However, the tea leaves left a mottled look and definitely not a swirl design! Now we wonder if the bits of tea leaves feel good as the soap is used. Could they be an exfoliant? 

We are looking for 3-5 product testers who can give us honest feedback about the scent, the look and feel of the soap. If you are interested, please apply using this form. We need feedback and suggestions before April 21 so we can move forward with developing this new soap variety. 

At the beginning of April, we'll send the 3 tester bars of soap to our product testers along with an online survey to help us develop this new soap variety. We will have local pick up options from New West and the Great Wall Tea locations. For product testers who can't come and pick up, we will ship the soap across Canada and USA. At this time, we can't include product testers outside of USA and Canada.
